Abstract

Historian, jurist and researcher Al. Boldur, a prominent name in Romanian historiography, included the history of Bessarabia in the general context of Romanian and European history through his prodigious scientific activity. The Bessarabian scholar’s hard work was reflected in scientific papers (published or left as manuscripts), reviews, radio speeches, studies and historical research. The work that he dedicated to Bessarabia has always been appreciated and studied by researchers, specialists, historians, a fact proven by the numerous academic and scientific activities regarding his persona and activity. By studying archive documents we found a series of assessments on Boldur’s work on the history of Bessarabia. Through the vastness of his work, he aimed at bringing into public attention the true history of the Romanian people on both sides of the Pruth river. In return, we intend to underline the value of his immeasurable activity and through this to bring tribute to he who remains a symbol of our identity.
